KAPA Board of Directors for 2025


Psychology is at the forefront of both the advancements and crises of modern society; patients, students, and communities look to us for guidance. It is KAPA’s ambition and intention to offer members a wealth of opportunities to stay informed, educated, and supported in their role of scientist-practitioner. Together, we can bring intelligent compassion when it’s needed most: now.

Dustin Lamport, PhD
President

Dustin Lamport, PhD, is a generalist psychologist serving adolescent and adult populations. He graduated from the Combined-Integrated Clinical and Counseling Psychology program at the University of South Alabama in 2015. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at a consortium in Battle Creek, Michigan, and postdoctoral training at Cherokee Health Systems in Knoxville. He worked as an outpatient therapist, behavioral health consultant, and led the clinical treatment team at Cherokee before moving into his current role in private practice. He currently practices outpatient psychotherapy for a range of issues including anxiety, depression, and trauma, as well as performing diagnostic and educational psychological evaluations.

Todd Moore, PhD      President-Elect


Todd M. Moore, PhD earned his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2001.  He completed his internship at Duke University Medical Center and a 3-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Brown University Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies. He was hired as an Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 2006 and was promoted to Associate Professor and Full Professor in 2012 and 2017, respectively.  He served as the Director of Clinical Training for the UT Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program from 2012-2016 (and engaged in part-time private practice from 2013-2016). He taught the graduate-level course on ethics for several years and provided clinical supervision to numerous doctoral students during his tenure. He also served as a member of the Tennessee Board of Examiners in Psychology from 2017-2021 (serving as Chairperson in his final year).  He currently serves as the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs in the College of Arts and Sciences and continues to mentor doctoral students on their research.

Alden Gaertner, PhD

Past President

Alden E. Gaertner, PhD, works in private practice as a clinical psychologist in Knoxville, Tennessee.  She graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2012, following internship and postdoctoral fellowship at The Institute of Living Hartford Hospital, in Hartford, Connecticut.  Dr. Gaertner provides treatment to adolescents, young adults, and adults, focusing primarily on relationship issues, adjustment concerns, anxiety, and depression.  Additionally, she has expertise in psychological assessment, and provides comprehensive evaluations to children, adolescents, and adults.

Catherine Zook-Bell, PhD

Treasurer

Catherine Zook-Bell, PhD earned her doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2000 after completing her pre-doctoral internship at the Ohio State University. Dr. Zook-Bell started her career in Knoxville as a Staff Psychologist at the University of Tennessee Knoxville Counseling and Consultation Services before transitioning to private practice in 2005. In addition to seeing clients in her private practice, she also sees clients at Focus Integrative Centers. Dr. Zook-Bell provides outpatient treatment for a range of issues including anxiety, depression and mood disorders, trauma, family of origin and relationship issues. 

Nichole Miller, PsyD

Secretary

Nichole Miller, PsyD has been a clinical neuropsychologist with The Pat Summitt Clinic at the University of Tennessee Medical Center since 2017.  She received her undergraduate degree and master’s degree at The University of Tennessee Knoxville, and her doctorate degree in clinical psychology from The Chicago School in Chicago, Illinois. She completed a clinical internship in neuropsychology at the Central Arkansas VA and University of Arkansas Medical Sciences.  She then completed a two year Neuropsychology Fellowship at The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire.  In addition to her clinical work at UT Medical Center, she also has a private practice where she provides therapy for adults and older adults mitigating life transitions.  She is the chair of the Tennessee Psychological Associations Insurance Advocacy Committee, a member of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology Student Affairs Committee and Mentorship Task Force, as well as a reviewer of manuscripts for journals in the field of neuropsychology and psychological assessment.
